When your numbers look wrong, start here. These are the most common reasons personal weather stations report bad data after installation.
The sensor may be in direct sun, on a hot surface, or inside a shield that traps heat. Move it to a better-ventilated spot and add or clean the radiation shield. Compare with a reference thermometer after 20 minutes.
A saturated or dirty sensor can stop responding to change. Gently clean it according to the manufacturer guide. If it stays stuck, the sensor may need replacement after a heavy rain or long damp period.
Wind can vibrate the gauge, spiders can touch the funnel, or dripping water from a roof can trigger tips. Check leveling, clean the funnel, and make sure no overhead water path hits the gauge during rain.
Your sensor may be sheltered by a fence, wall, or roofline. Raise it if possible, or accept that your site has a wind shadow. Record that limitation in your log so you do not over-interpret calm readings.
Heat radiating from a building, deck, or pavement can keep the sensor warmer than open air. Increase distance from hard surfaces and check that the sensor is not inside a pocket of still air near the house.
Look for interference from Wi-Fi routers, appliances, or solar charge controllers. Try changing the wireless channel or moving the console away from large metal objects and electronics.

Before you share, double-check your offsets, station elevation, and site description. Bad placement data can mislead forecasts and neighborhood reports more than no data at all.
